Throughout the world more orphaned and vulnerable children need support every day
KasCare seeks to transform the lives of these children and how we think about these issues, by connecting people through creativity and the desire to make a difference in a practical and real way.
KasCare facilitates this meeting between crafters and creative thinkers and the projects and the carers who look after the children.
It does this through on-the-ground organisations, like Knit-a-square South Africa.
Our projects team is working to develop new organisations to work with.
Wendy Hardy, our Knit-a-square ambassador will be helping them develop the skills and operational knowhow from her experience in South Africa.
Knit-a-square South Africa – Our Founding Project
Knit-a-square South Africa is lead by its co-founder, Ronda Lowrie and its Chair, Wendy Hardy.
Together with a dedicated band of volunteers, they have managed the monumental task of unpacking and sorting over one million squares, hats and toys, and organised the sewing together and distribution of over 30,000 blankets.
Recent appeals have seen an increase in volunteers and donations, but as the boxes and parcels continue to pour in, an increase in resources and funding is required to make their remarkable endeavour sustainable.
Ronda and her team work tirelessly based on their heartfelt mission for children to feel love through the hope and warmth that their work brings.
